  1. Obviously the 2DS and 3DS should have double the resolution in each vertical and horizontal, so that would match perfectly 2:1 and not like that. The problem is the CPU wouldn't be able to handle it.

  2. Funny fact:
    – Most PS Vita games are not running native 544p and some run even 408p. (Can be repaired SharpScale but it's make picture on screen small because it force native resolution.)
    – Chrono Trigger not run native on PSP because it's PS1 game that run 240p (intro is 320p). PS Vita double is 480p. PS Vita TV you can use SharpScale to linetriple resolution 240*3=720p.

  3. i just want to play chrono trigger on ds and never expect do you choose chrono to test screen , sorry for my english but so what screen do yo think is the best for play chrono trigger?

  4. I think it's a game by game basis for the 3DS XL scaling. For example Chrono Trigger here looks just fine. But Mario Kart DS and GTA China Town wars look pretty bad upscaled

  5. N3DSXL/N2DSXL:

    – can run both DS games and 3DS games

    – if u want sharp image for DS games use native mode (press select starting the game)

    – native mode is as sharp as DSIXL but its displayed on a smaller space

    DSIXL:

    – can only run DS games

    – sharp & bigger screen then the native mode

    is this correct?

  6. so what is the problem in playing ds games with a N3DSXL or a N2DSXL with the native mode?
Is the only problem that the actual screen the game is displayed on is smaller compared to DSI XL?

  7. I calculated that if we put a DS resolution game (256×192 px) in 3DS XL, New 3DS XL, and New 2DS XL (which have 4.88 inch 400×240 upper displays) – pixel-to-pixel (without stretching and blurring) – we get a 3.35 inch picture, which is larger than DS lite (3.12 in) and DSi (3.25 in). Not as large as DSi XL (4.2 in), but a good solution for playing both DS and 3DS games.

  8. Thx again I mentions in the previous video that I would recommend the DS Lite or maybe a DSi because it’s not really experienced any better on the N3DS XL or New 2DS XL I still prefer the Blurriness of the OG 2DS or original Nintendo 3DS XL because I’m not going to waste anymore money on another Nintendo DS System.

  9. I have a brand new sealed dsi XL I bought for 40 dollars and I started using it. I decided I didn't want to keep playing it to preserve it but when I started playing DS games on my 3ds I did notice the difference in display. Didn't mind me, just interested me that other people noticed this as well

  10. Incredible video! Just what I was looking for, I was playing EXACLTY Chrono Trigger on my 3DS XL and I was astonished it looked this bad at the full screen size. I gotta ask though, could you please tell me, is that the same with GBA games? Are GBA games going to look better on a DSi XL? Cause I'm totally thinking about buying one just to play DS and GBA games.. the GBA Fire Emblem games look terrible on 3DS XL.

    Thank you!

  11. honestly the downgrade in screen quality really isn't worth it to buy a original DSi XL. there are even some DS games where the cirlce pad is (slightly) better than the d-pad.

  12. You should have put it in new 3ds regular size not XL and you will see how crisp and sharp it looks. You put it on XL so of course it will look blurry and pixelated XD XD XD

  13. Never really saw the big deal over the upscaling for DS games on 3DS. You haven't seen bad scaling until you've played a 720p game on a 1080p display that has lousy upscaling; it's a chunky mess.
Also, I hope your OLED Vita doesn't get burn-in. It's the reason I went with the 2nd model.
