  2. When I saw the thumbnail for this I got really excited. Seeing F.I.S.T come to the switch gets me hyped. I've been playing it on the PS5 and enjoying this metroid-vania very much.

But I must control myself and wait for a review to see how it is performance-wise and all that.

  3. I don't know what I was expecting, really. Everything seems like… reskins of previous games with cheesy stories and reworked mechanics that you might as well have modded into a previous game. I must say UFO fighters has to be the best of this list.

  4. Pascal's Wager is one I've heard about because it's often cited as one of the best mobile games and also has MFi (made for iPhone) controller support for controllers like the Backbone (turns iPhone into a Switch like setup) and if it's on Android I imagine it also has support for the Razer Kishi. Anyhow it's often been compared to Dark Souls and there's another Pascal's Wager game in the series I believe. I only recently decided to give mobile gaming an actual shot with the Backbone controller as it has a sleek UI for all your games that is very much like a Switch combined with an Xbox on your iPhone. The downside is the controller cost $100 for the Backbone. The positive is the controller is very good, very compact, even more portable than the Switch, very lightweight but well constructed, and allows you to play Xbox Games Pass (even coming with a trial for that and I believe a trial of Apple Arcade which has some really decent titles on there). The problem with mobile gaming…well there are many with the most obvious being finding good titles and finding "premium" games that are complete, don't require online connectivity, and aren't nickel and diming you with tons of micro transactions. I was able to find a LOAD of games I had bought on my Switch and always wanted to play but always had other games I wanted to play more. Now it's nice to have the Backbone controller at work as it fits in my vest pocket very easily and it's just faster and lighter than bringing my Switch in my backpack when I only have about 30 minute breaks.

Anyways I'm really glad I decided to go against my prejudgement of the ENTIRE MOBILE gaming market and to try this out. If you have an Android Device I'd recommend looking up the Razer Kishi as it's a very similar though not quite as premium controller that "Switch-ifies" your phone and is a nice mobile controller attachment. If I had the choice I would have gotten the Razer Kishi because it's only $50 on sale most places right now while the Backbone that I got is the premium controller in the space right now and while it probably cost as much or less to make they charge a premium for it which I do feel puts a bit of sting to the investment on top of all the games.

Some of the games I got for my phone that I had backlogged on Switch are Hyper Light Drifter, Dead Cells, Grand Theft Auto Trilogy (I got these well before the Definitive Edition ports and play the Switch games a lot more), Huntdown, The Binding of Isaac, Sparklite (really a lot of great rogue-likes in general here as they are perfect for break and don't have big stories to get invested in and don't take up much mental bandwidth to remember what's going on), a nearly perfect port of Castlevania Symphony of the Night and the same for Chrono Trigger, a flawless and impressive port of Oceanhorn, and those are just a small handful of the premium games. I've also got the Nintendo games like Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, etc but I don't count those as true mobile games for my collection because even if you buy them you need always online DRM to play them and although I bought the stages in Super Mario Run I cannot play them offline and it must have a connection at all times. Some other fun single player one handed or rapid fire games I recommend for mobile are the classic minimalist sleek endless runner Cannabalt and Downwell (which is really fun and uses the hatpics of iPhone AND Nintendo Switch really well). On Switch Downwell has the "TATE" mode where you can turn your Switch system sideways and play it with the screen going longways like the phone or an arcade. It's a perfect game to play for 5 minutes or half an hour and fills up waiting time in a jifffy with some fun simple unlockables to keep you going and add to the incentive to keep running the randomly generated stages. Honestly I've played a lot more of Downwell on Switch but its a great mobile game.

I've been thinking about making a video on how I, a Nintendo fan who was opposed to all mobile gaming for so long, decided to give mobile gaming a try and have found some interesting results but I don't know what I would title it so instead of making that video I'm writing a long comment probably 1 person will read. As a side note it would be interesting to see a vide on the best mobile to Switch port games; aside from the titles I mentioned (the big indie games) there's also games like Modern Combat Blackout which was a fun though super cliche Call of Duty knock off for the Switch that is actually a series on the phone currently on Modern Combat 5. I found the single player campaign on Switch to be worth the cheap asking price and it's interesting to see games like Skate City are actually optimized and run BETTER with more content and options on Apple Arcade.

I'm not sure if anyone reading this is a mobile gamer or if anyone at Switch Up plays ANY mobile games whatsoever but maybe would be a cool backburner idea in case you ever want to come to the dark side like me and give mobile gaming a fair shake. For all the Stardew Valleys, Death Race 2 Canada, Horizon Chase Turbo, etc I found on iPhone there's also a lot more shovelware and little information about it online compared to other games. I have tried out the Call of Duty mobile and wow it runs fantastically. If they could bring something like or better than Call of Duty mobile to Switch I think it would sell millions just on the name; obviously a console specific game would be ideal and I know people have mixed feelings about Call of Duty but personally I just can't imagine WHY the Switch doesn't have a Call of Duty game when the Nintendo DS, Wii, etc have had bizarre downscaled ports that all did fairly well.
