  1. I think it'd make for a chunky console, but it'd be interesting to find a way to be able to toggle between video out and the ds top screen, maybe with two ribbon cable extenders rigged up to toggle between the outputs. Seems like it'd be very heavy on the case modding, and quite a bit thicker, but would e 100% worth it to me

  2. I’d really like to get a hold of a person in the modding community and see if: you take a wiiu gamepad, and basically switch the internals with a DS lite, would the touch screen work with a little custom software? And then you take the video output option featured in this video and smack that into the top of the gamepad. So the gamepad would be the bottom screen, and the tv the top screen.

  3. This looks insanely delicate and not a good way to play on a tv. If perhaps there was also a mod to connect a gcn controller or something, then maybe it would be better

  4. If I could hook up a Bluetooth controller and map a button to screen switching this would be incredible it's great work already I'm just thinking of truly making it a console for my TV

  5. Es impresionante como en una ds rota puedes tener una GBA retroiluminda y a la vez la posibilidad de conectar a una tv convirtiéndose en una super ds pero si es compatible este mod con una GBA macro ?

  6. i know it's like 4 months later now, and i checked out the guide and everything, is there a way to get the PCBs already populated so i wouldn't have to do the soldering all for myself (which i also would need to get everything first)

  7. Seems neat for a broken DS Lite or GBA Macro but Loopy's capture card seems like it's way less work to install and about the same price for more functionality. You gotta do so many destructive things for this mod, as well as possibly soldering all of the components to the board, where with an OG DS capture card you literally just connect the display ribbon cables into it and dremel out one small hole for the USB output while retaining both screens.

  8. What I hope is that you’d be able to put a usb c port on the ds lite, and have the video out come from the type C port instead of via a ribbon coming out the back

  9. Cool mod! It’d be nice if this could be socketed and wired in parallel with the top screen so that you can still use it as a handheld. Also it doesn’t seem like the picture-in-picture mode can be applied to the TV out? Maybe someone will develop that as a future extension of the idea.

  10. I wish modders find how katsukitty was able to put a video output on the 3ds ! Make the info available for the whole internet. So we all can mod our 3ds ….so we can finally play on the TV. I just dont understand why nintendo refuse to make a third party video output….we could play the gameboy games on TV…

  11. Might be an unpopular opinion, but sacrificing the upper screen seems like such a bummer, I guess this is where the video signal is getting hijacked from?
