  1. Back in the mid-2000s, I had a light pink DS Lite that eventually got lost to time, the hinge broke from my cousin dropping it but even though I haven't seen that delightful console in at least 15 years, I still hold it near and dear to my heart.
And then in 2010, I got the hot pink DSi as a birthday gift, and I still have that little console over a decade later. The battery life… is not as good as I remember it being, either because it's so old or I just thought it was longer as a kid than it actually was. I still have the console, case, charger, and the same like 5 games I've had for the past decade. And, of course, all my photos. It definitely pulls at my heartstrings when I fire it up to see a picture of a person or pet that is no longer in my life, and makes me laugh at one of my many goofy photos with the filters. As tempted as I am sometimes to put it on eBay because I know it and its accessories would fetch a good price, I just couldn't bear to part with those memories that were only captured on that device.

  2. "the Nintendo DS is God's favorite little portable"
it's funny because DS in France is pronounced the same way as "déesse", which means "goddess"

  3. I got a PSP at launch, and it always felt like a 'premium' device, but everything about it was expensive. The proprietary memory sticks, the games, the accessories, all of it. I wound up playing it for a few months and then selling it, don't regret it. I have had my hacked New 3DS XL for years, and love it, even though it's not nearly as 'premium' as far as the device itself goes.

  4. I got 1 of those handy cables that splits in 2 at the end and charges both my DS Lite and my DSi
(I also have a handy charger with different attachments that lets me plug in my gameboy, gameboy color, or gameboy advanced XD )

  5. Fun Fact: The DS' codename was Nintendo Nitro, which was changed to showcase the system's dual screens, hence the DS name. I personally think Nintendo Nitro sounded better, but then again the Wii changed it's Revolution codename because it was too obvious of a revolution to have it

  6. I know this video is 3 years old but it's funny to me how you never had an interest in Pokemon with liking the DS so much. You can't deny Pokemon is one of the main reasons these handhelds did so well. EVERYONE was playing Pokemon in the GBA/DS era. They were huuuuge.

  7. i still have my original ds model, just gotta replace the top screen. it works flawless otherwise – someone from a wealthy family gave it to me for free in 06 cuz of the screen being broken cuz she threw it at her older sister and it hit a wall. smh. apparently the fix is $8, the screen is just 90% black. ?

  8. Oh man I was that one kid with the original DS lol. I rocked that thing all the way until the 3ds came out and let me tell you I was so freaking happy to finally upgrade

  9. My main 3 games for the year I had DS as a kid were Super Mario 64, Sonic Rush, and a Crash Bandicoot game, Crash Boom Bang I think. All great fun games that I miss dearly
Edit: I originally broke the top screen on 64 and totalled the top screen on Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. I still played it tho lol until it took a dunk in a puddle.

  10. When I was a kid my dad got me my Nintendo DS which had a red cover and the rest was black. It looked beautiful and I love it to pieces (it broke a year later, I'm still so heart broken that I have yet to aquire another DS). My younger sister was extremely jealous so my mom got her the original DS version, it was so ugly and wimpy that she gave it to a kid on the bus the next day and never got it back
