  1. Some further honourable mentions would have been The Persistence, Yuppie Psycho: Executive Edition and if we are saying it's horror then definitely Bioshock too!

Let us know your favourite horror game on the Switch and someone will win themselves a code for the newly released Dying Light.

  2. A switch pixelated RPG horror game I recommend is Angels of Death! With an anime to watch as well, it’s a short puzzle game where you play as a teenage girl named Rachel Gardner as you try and navigate through the hospital you were stuck in

    One of my personal favorites!

  3. As someone from the dead by daylight community it is an anxiety ridden game look around every corner while you are rushed to do generators to save yourself. As a community member though sadly this game is mainly survivor based( as a survivor main I can admit this) granted there is lots of fun and also rage worthy moments this game provides. It's free on some platforms and worth a grab if price is right. Definitely worth a gamble to see if the games for you, or if this game puts you in the psych ward out of rage.

  4. I just picked up Friday the 13th two weeks ago. I played the Steam version for about 800hrs when it was released, and had an itch to revisit it. Unfortunately it takes a bit to find a full lobby nowadays (on the Switch), but it's still somewhat active if you're willing to wait a few minutes each time a lobby closes

  5. My fav horror game is dead space
I still remember the first time I played this game with my friend thinking that it's just a shooter, then the jump scares began and we filled our pants

  6. Amnesia has to be my favorite horror game. I hate it so GD much! It took me MONTHS to finish it because I kept getting too scared lol. It was one of those games that did so much with so little. Their follow up Soma was also pretty amazing, though I didn't find that one as scary.

Another game I'll recommend is Detention on Switch. I don't want to spoil anything, because going in as blind as possible is really the best way to experience it.

Finally, I have to, as is my civic duty, recommend The House in Fata Morgana. More gothic horror than straight up spooks. Very few games have ever left me in tears, and this is definitely one of them.

  7. Alien Isolation for sure. The only gripe I have with the game is that the alien can be "OP" from time to time, I don't even make a single squeak and it still knows exactly where I'm at or it just camps out near the exit.

  8. For me, it was The Last of us. Maybe many will say it's not a "horror" per say.. I was never so "tense" and shallow breathing like moment before university, with tunnel swarm with clickers and 2 Bloaters…I was never so relieved when I passed next to them after 15 minutes of planning, testing and drying

  9. I have to admit Outlast 1 & 2, although i am not a fan of horror games, but Outlast feels like a true horror game, from the start to finish just straight horror no break. One of the top horror game out there.

  10. I'm not really one for horror, so I haven't played many. I've previously played Darkwood and Dying Light on PC though, and both are pretty incredible. I doubt I'd ever manage to play a good chunk of the games mentioned on this list.

  11. Darkwood is a must play if you like horror! And it's proper horror, no jumpscares, which is so hard to do but they nailed it. The game uses some very clever audio design and a limited cone of vision that is just genius…. You should really play it… Have I said it's genius?
