Those were some of MY favorite “hidden gems” from this year! What are YOURS?!
Boomstick Gaming is the haven for core gamers who value gameplay mechanics and systems, because that's what continues
to make anything from 8-bit to 8k, equally enjoyable. Consider sticking around on the channel if you fall into that category! -Alex
better stay hidden 😀
Tails of Iron is definitely the best hidden gem I played this year, great game that seems to be getting criminally overlooked.
I thought you hadn't played ultrakill but it was released last year so now i'm not sure, so try this game if haven't played yet
Ultra Age looks like a mix between Devil May Cry and Code Vein.
Edit: I'm downloading it right now.
>Didn't see OPUS Echo of Starsong
Never heard of Ultra Age or Blue Fire, and boy do they look awesome. Bought Blue Fire immediately and just waiting on Ultra Age to hit PC. Great video!
The Riftbreaker has got some attention, and it looks like pretty interesting one.
Ultra Age: "Assuming you enjoy high speed action combat." No. I hate it. That's just the kind of combat where your foes don't block, avoid nor use any moves to counter. And probably you neither. And immerrsion breaking flying and dashing too. NEXT!
Ultra Age looks like a Devil May Cry/Final Fantasy 15 Hybrid nice
The Artful Escape. Press x to shred
god thank you i was looking for fuga but couldn't remember the title. A++
East ward was a fantastic game that just did not get enough air time. Retro RPG that is funny, emotional and not a slouch when it comes to switching up the gameplay
Would Remnant: From the Ashes and Control count? Especially Control. Knew nothing about it and heard nothing of it until it was free on various platforms. One of my favorite games.
Shoot! You forgot Swords 'n Magic and Stuff!
Thanks for the video, ultra age looks sick
Divided Reigns my game of the uear especially because of the story
I really liked the game sable it was a pleasant chill game about exploring both the desert and yourself. I also super enjoyed demon turf, a platformer with an interesting aesthetic and fun world. i would recommend both games if you havent played them yet. plus they both have incredible art styles i love both of them a lot
aFuga looks amazing, never heard of it before this video, thanks for mentioning it!
I guess I've really only put a decent amount of time into two games this year, PSO2: NGS, and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. But neither could really fall into the hidden gem category. I guess Record of Lodoss war, a cute little metroidvania I played a bit this spring, might qualify? But I didn't really put to much time into it, so I don't know if it's good enough for a best hidden gems list.
Riders Republic gets my vote.
Ultra Age illustrates a complaint I have about some games: combat takes forever because enemies take 3+ combos to kill, they clog the area and stand around attacking one at a time, stakes and skillcap are low, lack of environmental interaction means fights feel samey. If it isn't better than Neir, they wasted their time.
I liked Inscryption.
Tails of Iron! Dark souls + rats vs frogs 2d, great game!! and loop hero, amazing
Riftbreaker is a solid one.
For me some hidden gem games are (although I think a lot of them are from last year) Gunfire Reborn, Arcanium, Roboquest, HROT and severed steel
Gunfire Reborn was mine but not sure if it’s a hidden gem.
the fact that high fleet aint mentioned is heresy
unbound worlds apart
ender lilies
would add knights & guns
Disciples Liberation was the surprise hit for me
I played the demo for ultra age and I was positively surprised about the combat system. It's fun and the animations are quite nice. Don't know about story and characters but it's definitely an interesting game.
I would also add Voice of cards: the isle dragon. Also played the demo and I think it's a nice little game. Simple turn based combat system, pretty design and interesting D&D feel.
Huntdown 🙂
My hidden gem game for this year was 7 Days to Die… I didn't knew that I could get so addicted at building and designing death traps against weekly Zombie hordes.
EXO One is fantastic.
you can check Dark Light i think you will like it
DIFFERENTLY you should try Dysmantle exceeded all my expectations
? i think ultrarage closer to Devil may cry, only the skin is in nier.
Man, that Ultra Age looks straight like Devil May Cry 4 almost! I'm glad I came across this video to see it in action. That's going to be an instant pickup for me when it comes out. ?
What's the game on 6:20??
Add me to you many subscribers. I hadn't heard of most of the games, including blue fire (which i had in my library). That is the game that peaked my interest the most. As well as Grime and Rift Breaker.
i sub! thanks for the video
Prosperous Universe is the next step after the classic Ogame? i might check that
