Finally, I found it, I've been searching for its name for years and years, and here I am at 2:35am finishing a mission that took me more than 8 years to finish, this game is my childhood
It's been almost 20 years and finally I remembered this game's name.. I've looked all over the internet for this.. what a gem this was
Ps5 needs to make a new Skygunner game
I loved this game…very slept on by ppl…but I'm glad I had the pleasure of playing it.
I agree, this game looks dope for the ps2. Expensive and hard to find. But an immediate add to my catalogue. Thanks for sharing.
Sick
I’ve came across so many Nintendo GameCube fanboys and sega Dreamcast fanboys who say PlayStation 2 had nothing revolutionary and said ps2 lacked cartoony and innovative unique games I mean I guess mister misquote, katamiri damacy, sky gunner, ape escape 2 and 3, Maximo 1 and 2, ratchet and clank trilogy, sly Cooper trilogy, jak and daxter trilogy and many more I guess that’s not enough for them I hate normies who think all ps2 has is gta, god of war, metal gear solid and I heard Xbox fanboys say all the exclusives went to Xbox consoles when they got remastered ya ok so I guess zone of the Enders, metal gear solid 3, devil may cry trilogy and final fantasy x I guess those are the only ps2 exclusive that exist according to them ? ya I’m gonna make a ps2 exclusives playlist to show how good ps2 really is such a overatted and underrated console in the same time like serouisly it was first console to have more than 4 players and no one mentions that and had great online exclusives like socom, final fantasy 11, monster hunter online, resident evil outbreak, ratchet deadlocked but obviously all ps2 is known for is gta and being successful for dvd smh also apparently shadow of the colossus is not revolutionary according to Sega and Nintendo fanboys and Xbox fanboys plus I’ve seen some people who think shadow of the colossus is a ps4 game because of the dumb remake they didn’t even know it’s a ps2 title I just hate how no Sony fanboys gave much of a danm for ps2 exclusives yet once there’s ps4 then they want to make a big deal ?
I love this game, I am also struggling to get my combos right. Glad this game is getting the attention it truly deserves!
I wish I knew about this before, people are selling this game for over $100 now…
I was 12 trying to figure out this game and man was it a blast. 15 bucks on sale at the local flea market
8:00 The software renderer of the original Half Life had something like that too where pixel scale would go from 1X to 2X during a big event like an explosion or large rush of enemies on screen. I kind of wish more games had that option of Variable Processing when frame rates get unstable or very low.
I remember having this on a demo disk when I was like 8 years old
Yeah, I'd definately want to play this game.
Too bad I live in Europe…
childhood flashbacks
Will I be able to play through if I pick up japanese version (language barrier )?
I saw a zeppelin from this game in this video and immediately fell in love but sadly EUROPE GOT SHAFTED AGAIN AND THE GAME DIDN’T GET RELEASED HERE WHYYYYYY
Oh my god this GAME looks INCREDIBLE
I LOVE THE WORLD DESIGN OMG IT’S AMAZING
First they came out with a Crash Bandicoot remake. Then they came out with the Spyro remake. Now they're pushing out a Friends of Mineral Town remake. All I need is a SkyGunner remake, and my life will be complete. If all they do is get rid of the lag, I'm sold.
Got this as a kid purely based on the art style. I was rewarded with an amazing yet short air combat game.
Wow… This game is truly a masterpiece. Sad I never played or even heard of it.
Finally the one game that I've been trying to remember is found.
This game is absolutely amazing. You can play an entire campaign mode in 3 hours if you'd like but god damn you will want to play all of them multiple times.
Like the music. My son and I still play this game. Ps2 rules!
How can you make the game look so sharp? Emulation? Because on original hardware it looks like ass on modern TV's, and even worse when I turn on performance mode to avoid slow downs. Seriously it looks so blurry I barely can read the text on screen.
I tried to enjoy this game years ago since it looks amazing but I would keep failing missions I should dig it up again and give it a another try
Thank you SO MUCH for doing a review for this game!
I discovered it back when PS2 demo disks were a thing. Then, my dad bought the full game when SUNCOAST was another thing. Played the daylights out of it, but it was frustrating because I could save between chapters, for some reason! Other than that and the occasional lag, I love the mess out of this game! The world is imaginative and charming, the characters and VO work are awesome (my favorite is Rival, with Femme and Copain tied in second place), the story was pretty straightforward, the music is ERMEGERD amazing, and the gameplay and graphics were insanely smooth!
I wish each character was given a little more depth, but hey I can write fanfiction for that. Lol
Wow, that's so cool that they'd allow you to drop the entire game down to 240p to save on processing. I might have even checked it out for novelty's sake even if it didn't improve performance.
Wow. I bought this game from Hastings along time ago for $20 with case but no instructions and just the disc by itself is going for over $50. ?
Sony didn't want to publish Demon's Soul in the USA so Atlus did………… Sony always pulls this bs time and time again
So much for being a "hidden gem"… Cheapest copy I see now in 2019 is over $50. : /
the kid in me longs for this game. The memories I had from this game still pop up 15 years later
My Life in Gaming Do you know that symbol at 3:05 is a Luciferian symbol and it is in over 85% of video games ? How come no YouTube channel has done an epidode on that ?
That cover art always grabs my attention. Even now that I own it, I still stop and look at it if I ever see it in a shop.
Have it in my collection but only got it like a year ago. Look forward to checking it out. I wish this game were made on the GC or Xbox instead though, would have most likely resulted in no slowdown if so, easier to program for and simply more processing power.
this game looks gorgeous in widescreen 4k running on an emulator, highly recommended if you know your way around PCSX2
I don't know if Miyazaki is the best comparison, this reminds me a lot of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water.
The opening cinematic music for this game has been in my head for over a decade now.
I miss skygunner. It was the first game ive ever played while spending a few hours at narita airport in 2000, they had a playstation daycare for kids with skygunner as one of the demos.
Sony Need Create a Remake for this game
Looks amazing. Too bad it's too expensive for me right now.
I remember watching the game trailer/opening on G4 when I was a kid, I was already obsessed with the game before I even had a PS4. It was my first game on the console, and I loved it to no end. I recently got hit with a wave a nostalgia and wanted to listen to the opening again, which brought me to this video. I'm glad it's getting some love now because my friends at the time just didn't understand it.
This game runs SPECTACULARLY well on PCSX2. If you have a PS2 to get the BIOS off of, and a copy of Skygunner to get an ISO from, you can enjoy the game in high definition, as in, actually rendering in high definition, at 60 frames per second smoothly, none of that annoying slowdown at all!
When Mega Man Legends meets Star Fox, you get SkyGunner.
Omg This game was my childhood! I played it so much over an over again and I would never skip the intro. To this day that intro song makes me feel so at peace~
God i remember this
Looks fantastic! I’ll have to check it out!
I played the demo of this game back in the day and really enjoyed it.
I love this game and I to bought it when I worked at EB
