Perhaps an unpopular opinion but the vast majority of games released in the last 5 years and likely the foreseeable future have absolute dogshit writers and focus primarily on graphics engines and who can outshine the competition the most. Surely, this is what shareholders want so that's what they get.
I'd like to see the return of good scripts. Good stories supplemented by meaningful and sensical side quests. Classics like Final Fantasy 6 and 7, chrono trigger, breath of fire. Old shit graphics SNES and PS1 games. Fantastic stories, while still allowing players a level of freedom in exploration prior approaching the final linear dictated chapter of the game. There are heaps of books out there (remember, those things written on paper?) with fantastic story lines, which could be adapted into a solid game.

Early access has born the idea that devs can be paid off for half assed unfinished games that NEVER get finished.Many EA games go one step further crossing the line by trying to sell DLC's b4 the game is considered finished.
"ISOMETRIC" Yet again paying off studios for old dated game design is not something i endorse.
My opinion as to WHY so many half assed games have made it big in the last 5 years is because of the MEDIA/content creators/Shills hyping up games that do not deserve the hype.Then the idea that STEAM< has a system that favors positive views in seemingly EVERY single game is another platform to give credit where it is not due.
Being that this video is from Jan and this is not July i have had a chance to already see these games and the results…99% NOT worth buying or playing.However the hype will continue because content creators make more money by falsely hyping sub par games.Simple math,if cotnent creators simply said ALL these games are sub par they will not get the likes/follows/subscribes they ar after.

Can someone help me re-find this game? I remember it's made by a studio called Red(Something), or 'RED' is in the name. They have a YT channel, that's how I found about it. The game is a First Person RPG with 'PS2' styled retro graphics. It has magic, combat, the lot. The opening starts with a cutscene then the playable character is on a small boat, being taken into a swamp town. You can break boxes, find loot, craft your own magic via scrolls etc. It was set to release in 2021 I think. I cannot find the game or remember the name.

He says 'Baldur's Gate 3 isn't done' as if anyone thought it would be. The Early Access has been advertised as an interactive betatest of Chapter 1 since it started. They have never misled people about the state of the game and those involved knew exactly what they were getting when they bought into it.
