We'll be taking a little break from the Launch Games videos as we approach Christmas, but they'll return in earnest in the new year with episodes looking at the PlayStation 1 and GameCube's launch titles!
The original DS has a stylus nub on the lanyard intentionally so you could attach it to your thumb for a thumb stylus. This was intentional for games like Metroid or other FPS games. The thumb stylus was always intentional for the system.
Buddy, that thumb stylus was the only way to play Metroid Prime Hunters.
The Urbz segment killed me. Actually kinda made me wanna play it.
That Robots game looks no better than the Tony Hawk games on the GBA
0:10 – dang, hudson! that's not being a rockstar, that's just being an asshole.
R u working on 3ds launch?
Why would you have a stylus on your finger ? Do you know how good cod and metroid plays with this : lmao
Wheres the 3ds launch line up? ?
Super Mario 64 DS and WarioWare Touched were the main highlights
I still have feel the magic lol fun little game
Are you on weed?
They really should've added a few more puzzle games in the launch titles
oh weird. that zoo keeper game was a phone game i remember playing years back too.
The shitty launch games make me so nostalgic. the magazines always said they were shit but I had nothing else to get for the system
Thumb stylus is for FPS games like golden eye where the touch pad was your right stick
The DS kicked ass when I was a kid. And that's where I started gaming as a kid.
I love Kirby's Canvas Curse.
I'm kinda shocked seeing Pokémon Dash's graphics today. I thought the graphics were ps3 quality back then.
"Rubbing goldfish out of a man's stomach". How does this game know my bedroom habits??
I actually played some of these back in the day
I thought the pokemon game would be an epic car racing game, but instead it's the sonic r kind of racing game
The thumb stylus would actually help with alot of games.
Dont get why that intro? Someone could send me context?
Why does his guy from PGA look exactly like a skinny Ricky from Trailer Park Boys?
I used to think these games looked so amazing. Times have changed…
Sprung! The Dating Game is practicly just from the bad part of visual novels
01:24
Metroid Prime Hunters
I miss Pictochat.
I played the Metroid demo to death.
Becky looks really cute
Wow so much shovelware ?
SUMMING UP EVERY LAUNCH TITLE:
Asphalt Urban GT: An unauthorized port of a racing game that served better on N-Gage
Daigasso! Band Brothers: A Japan-exclusive rhythm game that sadly didn't get localized
Feel the Magic XY/XX: SEGA's failed attempt at a teen party game (It's pretty fun though)
Kensyui Dokuta Tendo: Spike Chunsoft's Trauma Center
Madden NFL 2005: Just get the console versions instead
Mahjong Taikai: A remake of the Super Famicom title of the same name
Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt: A demo to one of the best Metroid games ever made
Mr. Driller Drill Spirits: Dig Dug mixed with Puyo Puyo
Ping Pals: PictoChat that costs money
Pokemon Dash: Proof that Ambrella doesn't make good Pokemon games besides Pokemon Rumble
Polarium: A unique puzzle game that should get revived like Clubhouse Games had
Rayman DS: A TERRIBLE port of Rayman 2: The Great Escape
from 1999
Robots: A surprisingly good movie tie-in
Spider Man 2: An underwhelming port of a great game
Sprung! The Dating Game: A bizarre dating simulator
only available in Britain and Scandinavia
Super Mario 64 DS: A superior remake of a masterpiece
Tiger Woods PGA Tour: Again, get the console version instead
The Urbz: Sims in the City: Like I said, get the console version
WarioWare: Touched!: One of the best games Wario ever had
Zoo Keeper: A port of an arcade game that's somehow better than the original
Zunō ni Asekaku Game Series Vol.1: Cool104 Joker & Setline: Another puzzle game that needs to be revived
I remember getting one of these. The graphics do not look good now, but playing 3D games on a handheld foe the first time was incredible back then.
Asphalt joke was brilliant
The DS. The one handheld that got more launch titles in the UK.
forget channel or hey you. dash is easily the shittiest pokémon game
good lord, bad!
looking back at the launch titles really takes me back to when i initially got my ds for christmas back in 2005, i believe?
i wanted something else to play aside from sm64ds and around that time there wasn’t anything available aside from most of these games in my local target. grandpa told me to pick out two games so in my bright adolescent mind i decided to buy ping pals and mr driller drill spirits. i managed to make way more enjoyment out of ping pals than i’d like to admit but even back then i remember absolutely hating it
did anyone notice that his golf character is ricky from trailer park boys?
The Urbz DS is actually quite a fun game. It has multiple interesting locations and npc encounters, job minigames, sidequests and things to explore 🙂
I think I had that zookeeper game! I don’t remember the title but i remember the gameplay
Omg pokemon heartgold ?
“I saw graphite on the racetrack…”
This feels so… low… after the NDS Zelda tittles
That zookeeper game is just like bejeweled or candy crush
I had completely blocked out my time playing Robots as a kid. Thanks for bringing that back….
Zoo keeper was the first mobile game I ever played on my old phone back when they had buttons instead of touch screen
Wow, it takes 17 minutes to get to our favorite Ben catchphrase!
the animations in that dating sim game are pretty good tbf
