I donno man, the 2 new LLs i got from japan 5 years ago, they have such beautiful va panels that you forget the ips one I have in one of my US versions. The other va systems i have have minor difference with the ips. i guess the ips hype is not justified considering the quality of 3ds systems is nothing to write home about.

Where's the best place to buy a 3DS XL these days, that's not super expensive or super sketch (like ebay…)

i was able to snag a "New" 3DS in pretty dang good shape. then i have 3 standard unit 3DS's and an XL. though two of my standards and the xl have broken chargers. im planning on sending my best friend the working standard unit and if i can get it fixed later on, the XL.

I got a double IPS panel black New 3DS XL, shout out to Voltage Videogames in Syracuse, just randomly and didn't know it was an option. One day I saw a video about this and went back to Voltage and asked if I could compare just to check and sure enough I got one. I was super psyched! Again, thanks to Voltage Videogames in Syracuse NY. Oh, it was $200.

I got one last year with an IPS screen but ebay sellers are selling these models so high on price. I got a red one with just an IPS on top dont care about the second screen being TN. Sadly I hardly use my 3DS even with a list of great games. My Switch OLED I carry the most because of table top mode. Plus the 3DS XL are pretty heavy and cramp my hands.

really sad the charging ports on my 3ds, and new 3ds xl are busted really want to play through games that I miss, yes know about emulators but there's something about the feeling of holding it

Found a new 3ds xl for 125 $ and the top panel just so happens to be ips. The bottom is TN but still I got a hella good deal.

Looks like I'm pretty lucky… My original New 3DSXL I bought has an ips top/ tn bottom and my secondhand Solgaleo/Lunala Black Edition is the same… Having the primary screen be IPS seems very serviceable to me. Now I just want a proper capture device for them, which seems much easier said than done.

Tbh they should bring some games to the switch like Pokémon for example from at least black and white till the sun and moon I believe or the omega and sapphire or if they bring more of the older Pokémon game that will be amazing so that you can’t loose the work on the Pokémon we all work hard for becuase I still have Pokémon black and white and second one as well, X and Y, omega ruby and sapphire and sun and moon but don’t the ultra one atm but trying to get one whenever I can find one lol but again it would be nice if they can do that so for Pokémon or any other game to transfer to the switch

Last month, I got a used 3DS XL for less than 2$ from an antique shop. He said it broken. But after 5 minutes of charging, it work perfectly fine. Then I paid around 8$ for some 'mod' and that was the best 10$ spent in my life.

I’ve got a dual ips triforce new 3DS bought new at discount a few months before switch. Bought it to play Metroid and link between worlds. Unfortunately my unit has lost a lot of the gold color on the bottom of the unit. I’ve yet to find a good duplicate. Any suggestions in Europe? Most Chinese copies aren’t a good fit unfortunately.

If you're buying digital anyway, just homebrew the console. Piracy should not scare you, especially for systems that are no longer in production.

I own a New 2DS XL, and absolutely love it. the screens don't matter for everyday play nearly as much as people think lol. the new 2ds is basically my perfect console. alot of the original line new 2ds's have poor build quality, and have cheeper feeling plastic, but when mine came, side by side to a new 3ds it felt just as well put together as you would expect. its sleeker, thinner, and i think it looks better, and prefer the button type to the new 3ds. also, i know there is very little hardware difference between the new 2ds and new 3ds, but my new 2ds preforms noticeably better than the new 3ds. i just really love the console, and think it was a perfect way to end the DS console line.
